Introduction to Chinese gallnut

Chinese gallnutatium, also known as Baichongcang, Baiyaojian, and Chinese gallnutoperium, is a female parasitoid of the Aphididae or Aphididae of the family Aphididae of the order Homoptera, which parasitizes the young leaves or leaves of other plants of the same genus. The petiole is stabbed to form a cystic polybiological Chinese gallnut, which is obtained after drying and drying. In addition, Chinese gallnutnut is also a medicinal material, which can treat various diseases.

Pharmacological effects of Chinese gallnut extract

1. Chinese gallnuta japonica extract has astringent effect

Since the tannic acid contained in it has a Chinese gallnutic precipitation effect on proteins (Figure 7), after the skin, mucous membranes and ulcers are exposed to tannic acid, their tissue proteins are coagulated, resulting in a layer of film that has a convergence effect, and small blood vessels are also compressed. Constriction, blood coagulation and hemostatic effect; glandular cell protein is coagulated to cause secretion inhibition, resulting in mucous membrane drying, precipitation of nerve ending protein, and weak local anesthesia phenomenon. Tannic acid can form insoluble compounds with several metals, alkaloids or glycosides and is therefore used as an antidote. Tannic acid has little effect on normal small intestinal motility, and because of its astringent effect, it reduces intestinal inflammation, so it can prevent diarrhea. If there are irritating factors such as bacteria and poisons in the gastrointestinal tract, tannic acid preparations should not be used. Tannic acid can interfere with the absorption of food (precipitate protein), but in the alkaline environment of the small intestine, protein can be released again, so a small amount of tannic acid in food or drink is harmless, but a large amount of tannic acid is such as excessive tea drinking. , can delay the absorption of food. Larger amounts can even cause irritation, corrosion and, especially on an empty stomach, pain, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation. [8]

2. Chinese gallnuta japonica extract has antibacterial effect

In vitro tests have obvious bacteriostatic or bactericidal effects on Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus, Pneumococcus, typhoid, paratyphoid, dysentery, anthrax, diphtheria, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, etc. In addition to tannic acid, Chinese gallnutnut contains other antibacterial active ingredients, mainly distributed in the skin, and the decoction of Chinese gallnutnut has no antibacterial effect. Chinese gallnutnut decoction has inhibitory effect on influenza A PR8 strain virus inoculated into chicken embryos, which may be related to the tannic acid contained in it. The 100% decoction is made by plate punching method, which is resistant to Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Shigella, Proteus, Escherichia coli, Typhoid Bacillus, Enteritidis, Bacillus anthracis, Diphtheria Bacillus, Staphylococcus aureus, Beta Streptococcus and Pneumococcus Inhibitory effect, its bacteriostatic effect is not due to the acidity of tannic acid, but because of its coagulation effect on protein; the Chinese gallnut liquid after tannin is extracted by ether still has antibacterial effect.

3. Chinese gallnutnut extract has a detoxifying effect

Tannic acid can form insoluble complexes with many heavy metal ions, alkaloids and glycosides, so it can be used as a chemical antidote.

4. Other functions

Tannic acid is difficult to absorb in the gastrointestinal tract, and is hydrolyzed into Chinese gallnutic acid when passing through the gastrointestinal tract. Chinese gallnutic acid has no astringent effect and is easily absorbed and decomposed in the body. If tannic acid is absorbed excessively on mucosal and wound surfaces, it can lead to hepatic lobular necrosis. Chinese gallnutic acid and its esters inhibit the contraction of bradykinin in guinea pig ileum.

Diseases that Chinese gallnut can treat

1. Chinese gallnuta japonica can prevent and treat paddy field dermatitis

Grind one pound of Chinese gallnut into fine powder, dissolve it in 8 pounds of white vinegar, and apply it to the water-soaked parts of the limbs before entering the paddy field to make a black protective layer. If you have already suffered from paddy field dermatitis, within half to one day after application, the exudation of the affected area will stop and the pain will be relieved.

Grind Chinese gallnut into fine powder, take 1~3 money every night before going to bed, make a paste with cold boiled water, apply it to the umbilical fossa, cover it with gauze, and fix it with tape. Severe cases can be applied twice a night. Usually 1 to 3 times will take effect. A total of 61 patients with night sweats of pulmonary tuberculosis, silicosis combined with tuberculosis and other diseases were observed, and all of them achieved different degrees of curative effect.

3. Chinese Chinese gallnutnut can treat cervical erosion

Grind the same amount of Chinese gallnut and alum into fine powder, add glycerin to make a paste, use a small gauze piece with a thread to apply the medicine and stick it on the cervical erosion, and take it out after 12 hours. Review once a week. 18 cases were observed, 4 cases of erosion were completely smooth, 14 cases improved.

4. Chinese Chinese gallnutnut can treat occipital furuncle

First shave the hair on the pillow, clean and disinfect, remove the pus plug of the boil, and apply an appropriate amount of Chinese gallnut powder and vinegar to make a paste on the boil, with a thickness of about 2 mm. Change the dressing 1-2 times a day, and clean the wound every time you change the dressing. A total of 20 cases were treated. Except for 2 cases, new boils appeared continuously, and the remaining 18 cases were cured after 3 to 9 days.

5. Chinese Chinese gallnutnut can treat curled eyelashes

Grind one or two Chinese gallnuts into fine powder, add an appropriate amount of honey or vinegar, mix well and mix into a paste. When using, first wash the eyelid skin, and then apply an appropriate amount of paste to the 2 mm from the eyelid margin, once a day, usually 3 to 10 times in a row to correct trichiasis.

6. Chinese gallnutnut can be used to stop bleeding in tooth extraction

After tooth extraction, if the bleeding continues, a suitable amount of Chinese gallnut powder can be sprinkled into the wound (to avoid saliva immersion). Within 3 to 5 minutes, the surface of the tooth extraction wound will be covered with a yellow-white film, and the blood clot will solidify under the film, so there is no need to bite. Cotton gauze compression. When the maxillary teeth are extracted, the powder is not easy to sprinkle, and sometimes a little pressure is required to promote blood clot coagulation. This method was used to stop bleeding after tooth extraction in 54 people (63 teeth), and the hemostatic effect was satisfactory.
